ARCA: prefabricated guest house
This 130m 2 guest house is located near Paraty (Brazil). It is located near the Perequé waterfall, next to the limits of the “ Parque Nacional da Bocaina ”. It is known by locals as the ARCA , perhaps because they saw it arrive from the Atlantic like a ship. The truth is that it is a project that was born imitating the typology of Brazilian indigenous housing, as a single object that causes a minimal impact on the environment. The basic idea of its design was to serve as a home for weekends . But for those professionals who would like to travel with their family and work in full contact with nature on their creative projects, in the most comfortable environment possible.
The ends of this volume have been completed with floor-to-ceiling glass facades. The modules that make up this building were assembled on site in just one week. They were easy to disassemble and move to another location. The ARCA has two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, Brother Cell Phone List and a bathroom (divided into shower+sink+toilet). It also has a fairly large open space, which serves as a living room, dining room, and creative studio. The beds in the bedrooms can be transformed into sofas, so that these rooms become production rooms. ARCA prefabricated guest house Its creators also thought that it should have low energy consumption . That is why it has good passive behavior, through the use of Galvalume panels on the cover. This helps reflect much of the solar radiation, thus reducing heat gains. The raised slab causes natural cooling by allowing air circulation. On the other hand, the arch of the roof leaves a large upper void where hot air accumulates, which can be expelled outside through two ventilation chimneys.
