Vaccination without an appointment at the UC is “successful”

The walk-in vaccination day that the Cantabrian Health Service (SCS) has organized for this Wednesday at the Los Castros Sports Pavilion is being carried out "successfully" , since more than 150 doses have been administered during the morning.


The vice president of the Government of Cantabria, Pablo Zuloaga;  Phone Number List  the Minister of Health, Miguel Rodríguez; and the rector of the University of Cantabria (UC), Ángel Pazos, visited this morning this vaccination point, enabled to reach those students and teaching, administrative and service staff who have not yet received their dose.


Zuloaga and Pazos have agreed on the need to advance in those population margins that have not yet received the vaccine so that "Cantabria is protected against Covid."


The vice president has indicated that more than 90% of the target population of Cantabria has already received at least one dose and has considered the administration, as of today, of the additional dose in social and health care homes.


Furthermore, as the Minister of Health has specified, starting in October it will be administered to the rest of the groups, such as immunosuppressed and transplant patients, according to the agreement of the Interterritorial Council of the SNS, "to give greater coverage to these most vulnerable groups."





Likewise, Rodríguez has assured that the objective of these vaccination days without an appointment is "to provide the opportunity and guarantee that everyone who wants to get vaccinated does so."


For his part, the rector has highlighted the collaboration between the academic institution and Health since the beginning of the health crisis and has shown his confidence that progress in vaccination will allow us to recover normality in teaching, although maintaining security measures.
